I’m a sucker for the originals but given the robustness of modern crystals, and how few of us play polo, enjoy what JLC has done with the real estate. Ultimately I went with the dual time version.

Mine is the GR Duo...Don’t have a pic off the home time face...I just love the Deco stying. Could be my happiest watch.

Every collection should have a Reverso, it's an iconic design. The ones from about 1990 onwards have superior case construction and mechanism to flip the watch, the originals were quite deficient in this area. I have an 18kt rose gold one made for the Italian market back in 1992 (150 pcs) in the Grand Taille size, my wife has a steel Gran' Sport. Both are personalized.

I've had other ones but I find the larger case sizes lose some of their beautiful proportions, and I find they sit a bit too big on my wrist.

My favourite is the Reverso Classic in stainless steel. I like it plain and unadorned. I bought it in the mid 1980s from Garrards in Regent Street, London. It looks great on the bracelet and also on the tan ostrich strap . Unfortunately it's my daughter's favourite too and I haven't seen it for some time! No photo alas
