Everyone (myself included) seems to be quite excited about seamasters lately with the release of specture. I was thinking about speedmasters in the movies today and was curious what everyone's favorite movie featuring the speedmaster is. I've seen a lot of movies featuring a character wearing a speedmaster, whats your favorite?

I just watched Frequency on Showtime last week and the speedmaster is very prominent in that movie, not a bad flick either

That movie with that guy in it and he's like a spy or something and he's in Syria or in a sandpit somewhere and he wears a Speedmaster.

In the Shadow of the Moon. Section on Apollo 13 recovery you can see the watch and Lovell refers directly to its' use. Thoroughly recommended.
Apollo 13 is brilliant drama too.

If you are looking for serious actual Speedmaster watch porn in a movie there is only one go to movie/documentary, and that is For All Mankind.

    Here are two screen grabs....

Can't argue with Apollo 13 - on a recent re-watch it looks like Fred Haise (Bill Paxton) is wearing a Speedmaster on each wrist?!

The 1969 fictitious movie coverage featuring Neil Armstrong 'walking on the moon' a.k.a. Lot #15 at Warner Bros. studio in Hollywood. That flag WAS moving in the breeze!

Actually no. There was no breeez as the Moon has no atmosphere. The flag was fixed to a pole and suspended from the horizontal bar to prevent it hanging limp. The action of jamming and twisting the flagpole in the surface of the Moon caused it to flutter, and the lack of any atmosphere and hence air resistance meant the flag kept moving. Only its own weight and inertia would eventually stop it moving after a while.

The other factor conspiracy theorists should consider is just how many people would have to have had knowledge of any faked-landing conspiracy. In almost 50 years none have ever come forward, there have been no death-bed confessions, or leaking of secrets to the then USSR - who would certainly have been yelling from the rooftops if the US landings were faked.

Most favorite should be Apollo 13. And Gambler that Mark warberg star in is pretty good as well. You will always keep your speedmaster with you.
