For me, hands are the main make-or-break. I'd be curious to know what you all favor.
Here are three current favorites:
Laurent Ferrier,
Galet Classic collection - Perfectly elegant. The weight on that hour hand focuses the eye and touches precisely at the feet of the numerals. The weight on the minute hand sits outside the arc of the hour hand, and I just love that.

A. Lange & Söhne,
1815 - For the hands alone, it seems to be a subtle statement of visual hierarchy and balance of power, as it were, between the hour and minute hands. The minute hand refuses to subordinate at all to the hour hand, emphasizing punctuality to the minute. The overall piece, though, is this high-contrast monochrome study, with a singular blue in accents. Just stunning.

Rolex,
Explorer - For me, these are the ultimate utility hands. Another time-only watch, with hands that bark the time. I love the second hand, with a smaller ball as counter-balance to the heavier of the two, out orbiting past the arc of the hour hand. There's something reassuring about these hands, and I absolutely cannot explain why the heck I'd say that, I just
feel it.
