Not interested at all, but didn’t know if this is something that should be “reported” or put in the watch-out column or whatnot. From my education here, this is a real watch with fake dial. Case ref is 14759-sc 01 https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https://www.ebay.com/ulk/itm/183804962221
Since ref 14759 isn't Seamaster 600, it would fall into the fantasy dial category, oh and the case is polished to death.
So that’s not something that would be reported to eBay or in our fake sticky as “fake”? I guess just a seller who is trying to pawn his poor India/Asia purchase off to someone else.
Actually it should be reported, why should some other noob get stuck with their mistake? While the watch itself isn't fake the dial certainly is and the watch isn't a Seamaster 600 either.
Thanks guys. I still don’t feel comfortable being an “authority” on these things and taking the initiative to be a report things, but am getting skilled at seeing red flags when they pop up. And I too don’t want to see someone else get this thing and see it pop up on a “look at what I got” newbie thread....womp-womp.
And here’s another- is that even an Omega case? The movement looks real, and that’s about it. Do we report this one? https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https://www.ebay.com/ulk/itm/192915619323
It’s actually gotten aggrevating to me as someone who has come to love the brand, to see so many watches being sold that are clearly not a product of Omega. I feel like these shoddy products hurt the reputation and value of the brand. I almost take things like these as a personal affront- like how dare you suggest that this is actually an Omega-you bastard!
I politely reached out to the seller of the 'Military' Style Omega Seamaster 600 with Black Dial': Me: It's not an Omega Seamaster 600, it's just been re-dialed to look like one. Why do you say that? (Message 1) If it’s got the identical movement - that’s one of the most valuable part of the watch. (Message 2) Me: It never left the factory that way, it's either a redial or a franken. Correct Omega Seamaster 600 reference is 135.011 which should be stamped in the caseback and the caliber 601 was used in many many Omega models in the 1960s. Ok. I’m not sure you’re an expert but I’ll look into it. I have another Seamaster 600 and casing, crown and all else looks identical. These aren’t that valuable. I can buy a redo on the dial. Thanks XXXXXXX So maybe I failed, if the seller wants to believe what they want, how can I change that?
Well, he gave you some kisses, so don't beat yourself up too much - it wasn't a bad attempt. Success would be hugs AND kisses. XOXOXO And lest we forget eBay's policy on authenticity... https://omegaforums.net/threads/new-ebay-policy.11520/
