There was something about this one that was interesting to me. The bid was low enough that I just clicked a bid to keep it on the watch list while I did some research which was evidently enough to win it. It was listed as not running but it ticks and keeps ok time. Given that I can't find another one on the web, I'm assuming it's either outright fake or franken at best but wanted to get an opinion from the experts. Thanks in advance.

I don't think it's fake, it just falls into the era of watches that are not garnering much interest or discussion. I have little experience with this caliber, so I'll let the experts chime in on opinions.
I'll say this: the dope that put the rotor on should have finished his chips and wiped his fingers first.

Movement would be a good start for a project watch....just shipped this one out on Monday. New case, dial, hands, service (including a few parts), and it looks great:

Nice, I like that one. Same movement? NOS parts are available to build?

Yes, and yes. Although everyone keeps saying NOS for builds like this (a Watchco thing I suspect as they were trying to make these and the SM300's seem rare and limited I guess) but they are just new parts, not old stock.
