Hi, I would be very grateful for the thoughts of forum members on this Moonwatch which I am informed is a 145-022 69 ST. Sorry, the photo is not great but I have seen it briefly in the flesh and it does have a stepped dial and a hippocampus on the case. Disl and hands both have s nice patina. Has been offered to me for £2300 from a bricks and mortar store, no box or papers. My research suggests it is genuine but I am no expert and new to the vintage market.
Everything seen is correct. The case looks sharp, the bezel is fine, the lume is beautiful, pushers and chrono are right, and the price is good. Of course a movement and caseback pic would be nice.
The general consensus is positive, that's great to hear and thanks to everyone for taking the time to reply. I want to find out the serial no and get a photo of the movement and case back. If all is well I will go for it!
It is difficult to 100% affirm that is a stepped dial. Normally a 145.022-69 must have a stepped dial Concerning the bezel, it has a dot next to 70 not a dot diagonal 70. May be it is a late 145.022-69 if you can confirm the stepped dial or it is a later 145.022 if not. You should also get a picture of the caseback
Thanks SpeedTar, I did view the watch briefly and am fairly certain it has a stepped dial. Will request further photos to confirm. Can you please enlighten me on the bezel, is a dot next to 70 incorrect? I believe the watch is a a late one as the 69 ref ran until 1971 didn't it? However, it is a premonition, so I reckon 69/70?
Ok it is good that the stepped dial is on! The dot next 70 is perfectly correct it confirms with the stepped dial that Speedmaster is a 145.022-69
