Hey everyone, I've been doing some Google image searches and can't find any other Speedmasters with this date/time combination. Looks like there's weekday, day of the month, and a 24 hour ticker. I can't find any that look just like it. Anyone know what it is?
Sorry to tell you this but it doesn't look real to me. Back is wonky, and it shouldn't have the day/date on the subdials like that.
Ha, thanks guys. I gave $60 for it at an auction a few years ago. I guess I'll just wear it. What do you mean the back is Wonky?
won·ky wäNGkē Adjective: Crooked; off-center; askew. (of a thing) Unsteady; shaky: "sitting on wonky stools". Synonyms: shaky - rickety - wobbly
Maybe not wonky, but the Seamonster on the back of your Speedmaster looks like a fossilized Seahorse... Should look more defined like this:

You gotta be kidding me. ANYONE WHO READS THIS: report this as a fake. AJ, I'm one step away from banning you, and if I'm one step away then you might be gone the instant one of the other guys sees this because I have more tolerance than they do. The only thing we HATE more than fakes are the sellers who try to pass them off. You are commiting fraud and that's criminal.
AJ: If that's your Ebay listing, you're a dishonest fraud. I'm sure the item has already been reported. If you don't come clean about this, we'll create a very informative seller profile for you on Omega Forums (linking to your Ebay account and any other details we can find).
Here's what a Speedmaster Professional looks like... Your combination of Day, Date and 24 hour on a chrono is very prevalent among cheap counterfeits....a dead give away.
Whoever pointed out the Kyle the other tip-off would be that there's no "O" in "Qualified" and while most Speedmasters are approved for "Missions" this one is only approved for "Missons"... And as for this nonsense: " Bid High! 10% of final selling price is being donated to ASPCA: American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals" You sir, are a low-life for pretending to know nothing and listing this thing on eBay for some poor sod to pick up.
This is one of the reasons why counterfeits are so bad...someone will try and sell it as legitimate and some poor bastard will get screwed.
It's quite easy to put together a very organized file on AJ for submission to relevant local and state law enforcement entities who deal with internet fraud. He's easy to find, and everything is well documented. Here's to hoping he comes clean and sorts this out.
The auction has been pulled by e-bay....that doesn't mean that he won't try and sell it through some other avenue.
