https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https://www.ebay.com/ulk/itm/173388434266 I believe this is one of the fake 14900 Desmond scrutinized on his blog. No bevels on date window, weird looking fonts, no brick work on observatory. I know there is a thread for fake Omega’s but not everybody checks that, and its mostly for obvious canal street fakes, with the permission of the mods Ill start a new thread for this one and hopefully prevent someone from getting hooked.
I think you're right to post this as it is a credible fake and a noob could easily be taken in. The dial is shonky if you know what you're looking at but the case could easily be mistaken for a polished example. These cases were obviously made when the fakers had 'got their eye in' as it has many of the correct design traits of a real Connie - facets under the lugs, bevel under the bezel etc. even the perlage inside the case back looks okay It's just that nothing is 'quite right' - with all of those softened edges it would be far more interesting if it was indeed the elusive chronometer rated cal 562 Regarding the medallion, the tell-tale is the poor definition and the (too close) proximity of the stars to the outer rim - Connies of this (purported) era shouldn't have brickwork observatories, the swap with solid gold Connies came a bit later for reference - the medallion from the OPs advertised fake watch what one should look like (pic taken from a watch sale on OF from a while back)
