I'm thinking of putting my watch up for sale soon and recent sale prices seem much higher than I expencted for lesser versions. Its a jumbo (36mm) ref. 2180/1, cal. 30T2 with a 2-tone, small seconds technical dial made in 1944, serviced in April 2026.

What would you consider a fair, but reasonable price for something like this with a box but no papers on crocodile with Omega buckle?

It's not for sale yet, just seeing if it would be worthwhile.

Apologies for my horrible photos, It looks much nicer in person, I'm half blind and not very camera savvy 🤣

People don't often do straight up evaluations, but beautiful watch. What are you thinking based upon the research you mentioned?

I've seen everything from $400 for a wreck to over $3,500. I have absolutly no idea but several nice ones have gone over $2,000 recently.

Free Appraisals are kinda tricky.

Best to track all sales of such a reference over 5-10 platforms worldwide over 4-5 years and come to your own conclusions since you have the watch in hand.

Report back with your research.

Those numbers seem awfully high for non-chronometer versions.

Looks like a nice watch, and I think it would sell if listed in the Private Sales listings. An actual listing with an asking price will probably get more eyes.

I know right, thats what got me so confused. Most of them are sales in Euro and I was a bit dumbfounded.

Ok, I've looked at every sold listing I can find and comparing it to similar or slightly lesser quality models I beleive around $1,600 including shipping would be a fair price for both parties. The prices I have seen are mostly retail shops and they hover approximately 20-25% higher than this for a fully serviced model. The 34mm versions I have seen retail have been around the $1,400 - $1,800 mark so I am hoping this is reasonable. What are your thoughts?
I'm nowhere near the 200 post minimum to sell it here so it might be a while 🤣

Although the condition leaves something to be desired, the size, and what I would say might be more accurately described as an uncommon "mirror" dial, certainly support a decent value. At auction, I'd expect around ~€1,500.

So I was pretty close with my $1,600USD idea. It is much better in person, I cannot get a watch to look nice in a photo. My camera picks up marks that aren't even visible to the naked eye 🤣

Anyone have a link to a good online tutorial for taking quality watch photos with a Samsung S26?

It definitely seems like a watch that presents even better in person than in pictures. Beautiful dial, clean movement and sharp case.

I think you'd be in good shape anywhere between 1-2k, more obviously being better 😎
