Great forum - amazing photos. I am hoping that one of you might know this particular f300 Constellation. I love this watch! It was passed down to me by my grandfather. I'm not sure he noticed how often I asked to try on his watch when I was younger or if he thought I would love a challenge e.g. I like restoring Alfa Romeos and the f300 seems to fit right in with that special kind of appreciation/challenge. For one, why does it eat batteries so quickly? What is the norm for this type of movement? I ask those of you who may know, in addition to sharing your knowledge about this specific model, I would greatly appreciate any recommendation for someone in the Southern California area that is qualified to work on f300's. Looks to be a nice one!
In my experience the battery will last about a year. Not too hard to change it.
If you do not use it regularly you can pull the crown to the outer position. This will stop the movement, and save some energy.
I do not have any recommendations for recommended f300 service guys on your side of the pond, however I am sure someone in here might, or you can try a post on WUS.

It is, of course, actually a Bulova Accutron movement, so on this occasion it makes as much sense to talk to an electronic watch specialist - there are quite a few shown on Google. The guy I use is over here in the UK, but there are plenty of good Bulova svvy guys in the USA.

Nice watch, good luck with it!

It houses a cal 1250 movement and in my experience a battery will last for about a year. The number of people who can work on these is limited and the guy I used for repairs has disappeared. Do a google search and see what comes up. If you find anyone you like please let us know.
    Thanks

For accutrons....There is one I would recommend in the US. His name is Larry Blanchard, and he used to be the service manager at Bulova, so he is very familiar with the product and the tuning fork watches.

He can be reached at Palmer's Jewelry in Kokamo, IN. The email address is [email protected]
