On the 13th January 2014 I paid (70 CHF) £47.55 for an extract from the Official Omega website for details regarding my vintage Omega 6b/159. I contacted them 5 days ago for an update [email protected] and as of today I have had no reply or watch information. I can appreciate the information being lost in the post, but at least have the common decency and courtesy to answer my email I feel this is a very poor service from Omega in Switzerland and I was wondering if anybody else has ever tried to order information on their watch and how this panned out for them? For the record I have found Omega UK to offer an excellent customer service. If Omega Switzerland can't be bothered to answer my second email sent yesterday, then I will request a refund on my credit card. I will keep this thread updated.
Their attitude is that they'll get around to you whenever they feel like it, and you can deal with it or not. Not saying it's good customer service, just saying that's the game with nearly all Swiss manufacturers.
Yeah, you can find decent cheese from other countries, but only Belgian chocolate comes close to Swiss chocolate so as an addict myself I feel you there.
An exception to this rule is Longines. They encourage collectors to send in pictures of their watches and typically respond by e-mail within a week. And they are free (but no fancy certificates). You need to try German and Dutch chocolates, they are very close to the Swiss. There are even some artisan American and British companies that can compete. Yes, Longines do offer great customer service. I enquired about a WWII Longines 6B/159 and had a reply in a matter of days informing me of the date and the delivery location of the watch (turned out to be Baume & Co. London in 1944) I also found Baume & Mercier to offer a terrific customer service, their archive gentleman tracked a watch for me from 1990 from my memory description. I will always have maximum respect for both these watch houses and always consider further purchases of their timepieces. Omega Switzerland could learn from them a thing or two.
Omega clearly states that it wlll take time. 4-6 weeks if I do remember correct. Please be a big boy and stop weeping.
They post within 4 weeks. Mailmen are not the fastest moving objects on earth. I have ordered several extracts and they all have arrived around the time promised. Hey! We are into vintage watches? Whats the hurry???
You must have submitted your request right on the deadline before they decided to overhaul the process and all associated information. I hope they got around to yours before this but brace yourself for a long wait.
Maybe this is a stupid question....if you go to their actual headquarters, can they produce these extracts for you? I will be in Switzerland in June and was going to go to their museum.
That's a reproduction of the current website: http://www.omegawatches.com/planet-omega/heritage/extract-of-the-archives/order-form If you ordered via an email (if you are a repeat customer), they might still issue the extract. gatorcpa
Amen to that! There are several very good American (and French... and Italian) chocolate makers that are worth exploring, and this website may also help. The chocolate may keep you occupied till the Extract comes in...
I ordered it from the website "order form" on 29.01. Confirmed delivery as follows: "The extract you ordered will be sent within four weeks to the address you provided:" So come end of February and I will be a more frequent visitor to the mailbox.
