For those that have extracts from the archives how quickly can they be obtained?
I would like to check something before an auction but I’m not certain how long it will take to get an extract.
    Thanks in advance.

The two I obtained took about 2-3 weeks, but I'm in the EU.

According to the 30 previous threads on the subject, it take an average of about 6 weeks to the US and slightly less than that to the EU.

As you can see from the answers it can be from two to eight weeks, maybe longer. It seems to depend on how much they have to do at the museum, they don't have a big staff. Then it will go to the CEO of Omega for signature, so another chance of delay. If you need it in a rush I wouldn't bother. If you want to go for the watch in the auction anyway then maybe an early start is a good idea.

I’m currently waiting on one: requested it on May 3rd, on June 13 I received the email “it’s ready”, and to this day it hasn’t yet been delivered to Italy.

The previous ones I ordered through Omega US took three months: May to August.

What gets me is that it takes a couple of days max to be told there is no record of the movement number in their archives but 5-6 weeks for a certificate.

Because they know the range they don't have records for so they don't even have to look ;) if they have to look it takes time ......

When you receive your Certificate……Make sure you check it for any errors…Compare the information, against any known external databases

One of the Archivists is prone to ‘finger trouble’…I know of at least, two Speedmaster Certificates issued incorrectly

My most recent issue for a 145.012, was exactly a year out, in the date of manufacture… ( ‘69 instead, of ‘68 )

After an ‘interesting’ telephone conversation with the Archive……a new, correct Certificate is on its way

To be fair…they must process literally thousands…So human error, whilst temporarily disconcerting, is inevitable

BTW In my conversation… the Archivist agreed to verbally, check another number for me…It might be worth just a quick call ?…prior to an auction, if you are proposing spending the Children’s inheritance ?

Thanks for all the responses, much appreciated.
Looks like I won’t have time.
I will try and call them and see if there is anything they can do.

For those in the US requesting an extract, does one have to pick it up at their local OB/AD or can it be delivered to home?

I picked mine up. Don't remember being given the option to have it mailed directly to me.

I submitted a form electronically (attached the PDF file to an email), and it was mailed to my home. You can request the blank PDF form from Swatch customer service ([email protected]). Or I guess I could somehow send it to you. Is there a way to attach a PDF to a post or PM?
