Hello All,

Long time browser, first time joining and posting. Would appreciate everyone's advice and opinion on this watch. I'll be going in tomorrow (locally) to hopefully take a look at watch if it is still available.

Age: 1956/57 based on serial # (from what I can date).
18k yellow solid gold (per description) - looks a bit like rose gold though (pics can be deceiving)
14k yellow gold and steel bracelet
Cal 321
OT 2885
Case #11481507
Serial/movement #: 159973XX (no pictures of the inside)
Patent #: 315.164

Just at looking the pictures it appears to be original, but I wanted to get some expertise and advise on that aspect. I'll take more pics when I'm there and hopefully get a picture of its inside to confirm the cal 321. In addition, do you think the dial/face has any concerns?

What are your thoughts? Price is around $3,300 CAD or 2,300 USD (with exchange rate).

Thanks!

M

Weclome! Looks like a really nice piece at a good price. The hands look like they lost a little lume but that's not too big of a deal. The dial shows some patina but it looks original. I would go for it. 馃榾

Thanks Kyle!

From the other watches/pictures I can find online of "similar/same" time pieces, I can't seem to find anything with reference to OT 2885 and back with no markings i.e. "seamaster". I assume its authentic but most I've seen are steel vs. 18k gold. Do you or any one else have thoughts on that? Seems like the gold version isn't too common?

I think it is actually a 2886 - sometimes these 6s look like 5s!
