    Hello Forum
I’m looking for some expert help here. I’m offered this Speedmaster 105.012-65. Now its clear it does not have a DON. And to me it looks polished. But besides that, please do let me have your thoughts before i take a plunge.

Cheers and thanks OM for the opportunity!

I’m sensing the blurry pics are intentionally done to try and hide issues :

-a relume (lume looks very puffy)
-badly repainted hands (I’m willing to bet the lighter bits in the hand-lume are paint in the lume from repainting the hands).
-look at the sub second track at 4,5,6,7,8 o’clock...quite a few ticks missing no?

And yes, case is polished, bezel is wrong. Is that a CB case?

It appears everything has been tampered with...what else is wrong?

Better pics will tell more...but I’m betting you should run...

Edit : I’m no expert, merely OCD

Those pics look blurry for a reason.
I'm assuming the seller sent those as opposed to you taking them in a shop?

Like @eugeneandresson says, I have major concerns about that dial.

Ok, good point. Switching to learning mode: hows that possible? What could cause subsecond tracks to start missing? Now you pointed it out, can’t stand i missed that completely :)

Scratched-up screws in movement also may indicate work done by a less-then-qualified watchmaker.

How do you know? Look at the lugs, close. And you'd need to see the case from the back to tell 100%, but I already think it's a CB.

Late to the party and you all did such a good job that’s there’s no more low hanging fruit to pick.

    Great work guys!

To the OP: we all agree, this watch sucks and the photos suggest an intentional deception.

You gotta know when to hold ‘em
    Know when to fold ‘em
    Know when to walk away
    And when to run...”

    Time to run.

Oops, edit: I’m betting the pushers are service replacements, along with the crown.

Ok, that pretty much sums it up. Even at 7500 run away.
Many thanks to the forum members, glad i asked...
Up for the next “opportunity” 105.012-65 -)

Dial is 100% not original. If you look at the 9 o’clock marker you see a long index (as it should be) whereas it seems that the 3 o’clock index is short, as in a 145.022-69 for instance...

Best case scenario, it’s a relume, which combined with that case should make you call the police :)

Also, looks like some photoshopping going on in the minute counter spring area.

Caseback may be a 65 HF but the midcase is CB. Or was before it was polished to death.

Have you got a full picture of the rear of the case (i.e. Not cut down to just show the movement).

Yes and (correct me if I'm wrong) but isn't that 25xxxxxx serial a bit late for a 105.012-65. Seems to sit better in the 105.012-66 range.
