·Here's a fake or redone silver dial for a Seamaster 176.005 I found on one of these watches. Is this something anyone has seen in circulation? Seems like a lot of trouble to go through. Below are photos of a genuine example and of the redial. The genuine dials have a sunburst pattern. So does the fake but it appears to be painted with a highly metallic and sparkly paint. Also the letters/numbers/timing marks are of much poorer quality with bleeding evident in many places, including at the black triangle at the top of the 12 hour register. Notice the poor quality of the print "Seamaster" especially noticeable in the bottom photo. These aren't affected by the crystal since the crystal is like new and clear. Some numbers and letters are of a slightly different style, and the positioning is a bit off. It's pretty obvious with the print "T SWISS MADE T". Take the T on the right, for example. The genuine is aligned pretty closely above the 28-1/5 second mark while the fake is above the 28-2/5 mark. Lume dots are wrong as well. This particular watch has a scratch between the numbers 4 and 5 on the date wheel. Plus the crystal isn't original and doesn't appear to have a gasket between it and the case.
