not surprised after the 2.EB 2998s went for $15k and $14k. The EW watch had a nice 7912/6 bracelet too.

FYI, I don't see any straight lug Speedies (2998, 105.003) for sale on EBay. Supply is drying up.

Watch buying/selling is surprisingly seasonal, search for "watch season" in old threads and you'll find it mentioned a lot, the Northern summer tends to always be quiet.

I've seen some of those.. it is my first watch season summer.

Hopefully there's a good barn find or two, just to keep it interesting.

There always is. I'm a big fan of off-season poaching.

Nice piece, but $15.5 uff! I need to graduate before moving up to that Speedy level regardless of the season...

Regarding the last few auctions I don't even think that price is crazy..

There are a few 2998's and 105.003's on chrono24 still although they are no longer on eBay..

There is another one phenomena with the 2998. It appears that some merchant didn't really update their prices on this model or at least didn't follow the trends of the last month. Consequently, it is possible to find in some merchant store Nice 2998 at a price Level which is similar to Ebay it even forum prices (generaly prices are far higher in vintage shop than on internet). One exemple in Paris, A. De Macedo is currently selling a very Nice 2998-6 , all original, with 2 years guarantee for 12k euros.

Yep - my sales of new watches do drop off in the summer months. Repairs are constant though...

Watch shows are dead slow in Summer as well. Good time to do some watch fishing :)

never been on the website. Need to enter the shop to see all the watch for sale.

There was a show with the museum few weeks ago in this shop, still some pieces there (2915-1 nice! not for sale of course ) and 2 straight lugs (2998-6 and 105003) and one speedymoon for sale.
