So in my search to expand my collection to other swiss made watches, I found this on ebay:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/SERVICED-ET...010708?hash=item2105c97994:g:zCsAAOSwv0tVecTLPurchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network

I have seen gold capped, gold, or steel. But never the combination of both. Is this legit or has someone stripped the gold off of the main body to make the watch more presentable or for some other reason? Thoughts and comments would be appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Rob

Just a guess but looks like
the previous owner loved that band
and wanted the watch to match it

Looks like its missing its bezel.

No different than many 50/60s Omegas, gold bezel and gold capped lugs, tons of Constellations like this.

    Maybe the bezel is polished

Almost certainly would have been fully gold capped. So yes, the bezel is either missing, or was degraded and polished away to make it look like this might be an original configuration.
