    Hello,

I have seen two case references for early Eterna Super Kontiki diver's watches.

One reference is 130 FTP, the other is 130 PTX.

Also the movement differ from 1424d to 1489, although they do not seem very different in size (1424 is 0.4mm thinner)
Can you tell me the difference between those case references? Which dial or movement fits in those cases?

I know the question is tricky, but there is not so much references on this watch.

    Thanks in advance,

    Bruno

Not much information out there on Eterna. None that is brand endorsed that I know of anyway. There were quite a few versions of the Kon Tiki over the years.

The earliest Super Kontiki, what I call the Mk.1
was a different case style than the Ptx that followed.
The earliest had a white dial and triangular markers.
It's caseback was not marked with a Ref.
It was thinner than the Ptx that followed it. The lugs
were also straight rather than turned in. The earliest
Ptx/1 had the same white dial as the Mk.1.
Sorry can't tell you about dial sizes. GL

    Thank you for your answers.
Indeed, I have seen those cases, which refer to the earliest super Kontiki. The movement inside was a eternal 1424d and their size is smaller (36.5mm) than the 130 FTP and 130 PTX/3 case references (which are 39.8mm in size).
I have also seen Super Kontiki with 130 PTX/3 case and 1424ud movement inside.
Mine has a small case similar to the white dial above but with a black "classical" dial, which would make my watch a "mark I"

The smaller case Kontiki are also less desirable on the market, it seems, since the bigger watches are looked for.

That's great. I've never seen the black dial
    In the smaller case size.
    What's the serial number?
    Dibs!

The caseback has been too much polished, so one can neither see the serial number nor the kontiki boat anymore..what a shame.
In this model the KonTiki boat was engraved, not in gold.

As I know, the serial number should be on the edge.

But I don't know if this dial would not fit in one the 130 FTP or 130 PTX/3 case references, since I have seen case references with the same black dial (with "Super" at the left of KonTiki). But is it the same size of the dial, this I do not know.

iirc: the first gen had non-screw down crowns ... but I dont exactly when they moved from gen 1 to gen 2 or what exactly the nomenclature is ... didnt the first ones not even have a diver's bezel?

The 1958 Kontiki was the first, no diver bezel.
The Super-Kontiki always had divers bezel
Both were considered and advertised as
    diving watches
