1968 Eterna-Matic Kontiki 20 in very good original condition. Has great wrist presence and is a value in the vintage market. Case: 37mm stainless in very good condition with good honest wear and clear case lines and facets. Kontiki symbol on back shows wear. Caseback has clear serial. Dial: silver starburst finish with applied silver and black indices and tritium lume plots that is clean. Movement: Eterna modified ETA that is clean and running well, service history is unknown. Crown is a bit loose on the stem, but set and functions fine. Crystal/Crown/Hands: original signed crystal in very good condition, original unsigned screwdown crown, and original hands. Bracelet: original Gay Freres with full links for up to 7.5” wrist in very good condition. Overall an excellent value in the market at $450 Shipped in the CONUS. If it is like mine, it came with an Eterna-matic cal 1489K movement. I have heard it was similar to certain ETA ebauches, but with some special features. I'm guessing here, but I imagine that the ball-bearing rotor design was one of the modifications. Interesting to discuss further, but probably we should not continue to bump this obsolete sales thread.
