Hello all, Fished this wreck out of the junk box at a Brocante in Bordeaux this week, and the second hand started moving.... I offered the guy €3 for it and ran for it before he changed his mind. Took it apart for a thorough clean and polished the glass. Worst arm cheese I have seen for a long time. But This watch has real mojo, reminds me of Stevie Ray Vaughan’s stratocaster.... have to wonder what the owner did to remove the gold plating like that. Crown is missing but the stem is there with a female end so I set the time with a screwdriver, has been running ever since. Who needs a crown anyway, apart from a queen? Serial no. inside dates it to 1958. Actually this would be the find of the month if I hadn’t found a working 40mm Swiss chronograph a few weeks ago...also for €3.
A little hard to use on my pocket watch collection. And I hate to think what has been stuck to those cases...
