Recently there have been quite a few new additions to my collection. Therefore, it is time to sell a few pieces. I would like to start by offering this Eterna chronograph from the 1940s. The watch has a lot going for it: it was produced by a well respected brand, has a beautiful movement, is well sized for its age, and -last but certainly not least- has a beautiful sector dial. On the other hand, it is a watch that’s almost 75 years old. As such, it’s not surprising that there is some visible wear. All in all, I think it’s still in very decent condition for its age. Case: 36.5mm gold-plated case, not including the crown. If it was ever polished, it was done lightly. There are dents here and there (see photos). The case has lost some of it’s gold layer, especially on the lug tips. Dial and hands: The dial has aged a bit, which is visible under certain angles and lighting conditions. Leaf hands, which have some minor imperfections. Movement: Eterna cal. 703, which is essentially a Valjoux 22. It was fully serviced in january 2018, and all functions are in good working order. I have not timed it though, so not sure how accurate it is running exactly. Crown and crystal: not sure whether these are original. Accessories: The strap on the photos is included in the sale. Price: 1950 euro (reduced to 999€) net to me, shipping not included. Payment by Paypal or bank wire. No returns, unless grossly mispresented. Worldwide shipping, preferrably with DHL Express. About me: I am a private seller located in the Netherlands. I have several references here on OF, but also on the Dutch watch forum and on Uhrforum. References can be provided upon request. If you have any additional questions, please contact me! Thanks for looking, and thanks to OF for the space. It was quite a struggle to make good photos. Luckily I got some help!
You are absolutely right. That was a mistake on my part. It is gold plated. Thanks for the correction!
