Here's the first I've seen in all 18kt. Currently on the bay, pictures credit to the seller. Regrettably, at $4.9k, I won't be a taker. (But I did land the non-crested version mentioned above in the end, so no tragedy). I concluded there isn't a consistent underlying logic to the crest business, although maybe it's something marketing realised was a nice distinction for the top of the range sometime early-mid 1960s.

Lovely, but unrealistic top price for this kind of thing IMHO - Maybe I am just hoping something will come into my price range.....

That's "unrealistic" as in totally crazy, so don't worry - these things will come up, and not at that price. Good luck!
