I saw this item at an estate sale that I went to. 18K gold Omega automatic DeVille watch was the description. It sold before I got there. The owner was wealthy and had great stuff. How do I asses its value? What would you pay for this? (I know the price it sold for). I will post the price in a later post.

Melt value mostly on welded bracelet style of these watches but this one looks like it can be changed to a nice leather. So no idea from me, others will know more.....

Around 50gr excluding the movement. Worth about $1300 in gold. Close enough to sold price?

It sold for $2600. The watch style seems too fancy and out-of-style to me. If you sold the band, and then put a nice leather band on it, it might look pretty sharp.

    I currently live in Dubai
there are many here that would think a watch like that to be both desirable and understated -and a bargain to boot.....:taunt:

Three months and the watch is still there on eBay for the same price. The seller has added some new pictures and put the watch on a posh little pillow. It's laying there like a unwanted whore in a French whorehouse. s-l1600.jpg

Like you alway hear, not everything old is worth a lot and just because the gold is worth 2k does mean the watch is worth 3k more. If it wasn't gold that would be a couple hundred dollar watch all day long,... so add that value of the gold to take and in imho what say it is worth.
