Crap! Looks like a Ref 2499, from memory the last highest sale was around 2.9M, and that was a rose gold 37mm rare case example, but I had no idea they even made platinum 2499s.
I did that one better - saved myself an additional 697K and got an engine turned guilloché dial to boot. Of course, it doesn't say Patek on the dial but who's keeping score?
I actually like complicated vintage dress watches a fair bit, my desire for a Patek 5070 was part of my motivation for the Omega OT2872 Cal 320 in 18K, a moonphase triple date would be great were it not for the fact that original clean dials are rarer than hen's teeth. And I don't like the JLC ones for some reason, I should but I don't lol. I'm actually rather pleased that 320 has an original dial that isn't trashed, especially at the price I paid.
Hmmmm, I'm smelling a Chronoswiss for Soccer Timer temporary swap once the newness of each wears off.
View attachment 5890 What you takin', it's petite . A lot smaller then that monster turnip on Dennis's Chronoswiss
Yea but a disco ball for a crown does seem appropriate for Dennis, the Patek one does look just very un-Patek
It's not a disco ball, it's an attic vent. .... and for some reason, lugs like those two watches have seem to go with these types of serrated crowns.
I'll second that. The Tiffany's in the Ala Moana mall in Honoulu had it and a few more stunning Patek pieces.
SOLD 3.655M Not bad considering! http://www.christies.com/lotfinder/...2362&sid=cf5b3bb4-a33f-47bc-a11b-9d4530c30bf7
