Straight from an old watchmaker estate, for sale comes an automatic Enicar Sherpa Jet from the late 1960s.

So what do we have here? An all original 148.35.02 in a perfect conservation condition - I believe this is something we can call New Old Stock without abusing the term.

The dial has no damage and the lume (obviosuly tritium) is intact. The hands also have a tritium lume and present a beautiful patina, identical to the dial. The unicorn checkered GMT hand has super vivid colors.

That 36mm (without crown) case is perfect and the signed crowns obviously original.

The caseback is also in a perfect condition, still partially protected by the factory gel coating and stickers.

Caseback signed inside, as one would expect it to be.

A 18mm Tropic strap from the sixties is fitted with a signed Enicar stainless steel buckle.

The movement is like new. I only opened the case to make some pictures, I am selling this watch in the "as found" condition as I believe this will go in a collection not to be worn. If you intend to wear it I would recommend a service as the 50y old oils have dried up. Still the watch starts running immediately and precisely right after some rotations of the rotor and all the functions work correctly.

To recap :

- All original, new old stock Enicar Sherpa Jet GMT Automatic watch
- Period correct Tropic strap
- Signed Enicar stainless steel buckle
- Enicar presentation box
- Blank warranty booklet - the watch has never left the watchmakers' estate
- CONDITION ( ! )

What you see is what you get.

Wowsers, I had to wipe the drool from my lower lip by the time I reached the end of that sales post. If only I had the money.

Best of luck with the sale.

I have looked at many of these over the years and have never seen facets that sharp, they are usually polished away- wow!

This piece is in line with the thread on “safe queens” and my comments about reference pieces....this is truly a reference by which others are measured.
Congrats on a great find and kudos to whomever is lucky enough to be the next steward of such a lovely piece.

This is amazing; I am so tempted. It's just that I want one I can wear.

I am usually simply changing the prefix and do not advertise the listing status change to ohfp/sold but this one didn’t remain unnoticed 😟

The good news are that this watch will a) go to an OF member b) who happens to be a fellow Enicar collector. 👍

Thanks for all the kind comments !
