While in Hong Kong, I saw this sweet little thing that had a lightly patinated dial that drew my attention. I thought it was quite attractive, so I bought it:

I haven't heard of, nor have I been able to find anything about this brand.

Case back says 'Made In Germany' 😕

I have yet to ID The movement:

I really only bought it for its dial, but I had hoped there might be some interesting history. Otherwise, it may not stay with me for long .

The caseback looks rather new, too, so it's probably a replacement... probably no German connection at all...

I'm thinking it's 'just another pretty face'...😜

Most likely just one of those generic swiss brands with a decent (?) movement... I really dig it. Too bad the caseback is probably not original.

Leaving out the supposed quality and notoriety, isn't it ironic that such a beautiful watch, probably goes for 100$ or less while others that are WAY beat up or ugly fetch $$$$?

I think it may be an Arctos - German company.
Have you seen an Arctos that is similar? Picture?

I will do a search and get back to you. I don't have any on hand, but it bears similarities to other Arctos I have seen.

Yes, here's an Arctos that was listed on eBay with similar dial:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vintage-ARCTOS-gents-watch-/191835158465?nma=true&si=7yPbS6z5YpM5HpMNUng4hHllM0Q%3D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

But there's no minute track, and the hands are not the same style... don't know whether this one has the same movement, as it's not pictured.....

and the case isn't the same, so, a dead end actually 🙄...

Perhaps both brands had the same manufacturer/distributor. Such as the Chronographe Suisse and the loads of different other brands that sold the exact watch (both in design and movement) but with a different brand name on the dial.
