Interestingly it has been 60 years since Aldrin received his first NASA-issued Speedmaster...
Almost 55 years between these 2 portraits of the now 96-years old living legend honorary USAF BrigGeneral Edwin Eugene Buzz Aldrin :

Remarkably, none of Aldrin's Rolex wrist watches have been offered...

This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to acquire the former possessions of a man who did not give a shit at levels that we cannot even imagine. I mean the sheer range of his not giving a shit extended beyond the very bounds of our planet. A legend

I was surprised how reasonably some of Aldrin's watches went for (and thought the signed flight plan for Apollo XI would've gone higher as well).

Did anyone here bid successfully?

Who got the watch that went to the moon? Oh that’s right. No one.

I hope whatever funds are raised are for the benefit of Buzz.
It wasn't that long ago nobody seemed to care about him.

IMO, the auctioneer was terrible. She seemed equal part amazed and amused, neither of which benefited her client. In spite of that, the results were very strong, higher than typical space sites such as RR and Heritage. No doubt the focused collection and publicity brought strong results. Good on Buzz, although at 96, most of the benefit will go to others. Still, it's nice recognition for his status. Aside from the historic circuit breaker switch, the results surprised me. A good example of auction fever.
