Have owned this watch for a bit, and it is getting towards the front of the line to go out for service. Likely from late 60'-early 70s, thick mineral glass flat crystal. Always been a decent runner, but it is due. Just a fun watch to wear when I feel like a change.

That has a very desirable dial, and personally I would prefer the manual wind. Mine is packed up and off to the watchmaker tomorrow

Much improved looking dial today after a visit to my Watchmaker, some of these Edox watches are very under appreciated individually and as a brand in general.
I only have 5 of them but they are all special, this one is a very recent addition only had it for 3 days.

Yes, the improvement is obvious. I also agree that they are under appreciated. I would enjoy seeing your other 4! Who know, this could become an Edox "sub-thread", if such a thing is possible.

Can only find 3 others at the moment my other one is in hiding amongst the rest of the collection.

Very nice! The second one is extra tasty. The third one is also attractive. You might consider having a jeweler deplate , and then replate the case. For whatever reason the dial shot of the first watch does not render.

Yes the case needs work but I have yet to find anyone locally that will replate watch cases, it's an ongoing search.
If you refresh the page the first one should come up, had to replace the image.
The 2nd one is stunning with pretty much zero wear and the case back is just gorgeous.

I can see it now, wow that is wicked! Cool that you have the bracelet. I am surprised that you can't find a jeweler who will re-plate the third one. Perhaps if you removed it from the case. Done properly it is a 4-stage process: De-plate, or "strip" as jewelers say; Plate with copper; Plate with nickel; then finish with 14K or 18K, whichever you prefer. The 14K is more durable. Some would want to do a mild re-finish before under-plating, but it doesn't appear to be too dinged up. Good luck!

Nice. I've also got a Delfin, albeit still unsure if the dial and second hand is original (not much reference). The dial is very sharp, can't find flaws as the case itself. I like the watch being handwound. Still can't find much historical info on it so nice to see some other ones.

Another Delfin with a beautiful dial! Reminds me a little of the dial on some Omega Dynamics. That sure was an era for watches breaking out in great colors. Case looks very nice as well. That is a keeper. Interesting that the Delfin line is still around and one of Edox's most popular. Great find.

Normally I only go for watches with higher jewel counts such as 25 jewel automatics and I tend to pass on by any thing with less and even in manual wind watches 17 jewels is normally too low for my collecting tastes however there are exceptions and it's down to the individual watch but with Edox watches they certainly have something that makes them stand apart from the usual plain Jane fare of many Swiss 60's and 70's watches.
There has been a rash of Edox watches appearing on my local auction site in recent months and most I pass on by but some do stand out and they can generally be had for not a lot as they don't seem to have made the collecting consciousness yet which is a shame as they truly stand out.

I have been interested in Edox for a few years now. I agree that they have a little extra something. I just got this Bluebird from a Fellows auction. When I opened it up and it had a 17j AS 2066 I was a little disappointed. I used to buy a few watches with the 2066 within them, as an alternative to ETA, and usually the 25j version. My watchmaker doesn't particularly like them, and I have had a few issues with the date complications recently. I thought I was going to send this one in for service, but on closer examination I don't think the dial condition merits it. Maybe I will get lucky and find a 2066 Bluebird dial that is nice, as I do like the chunky case. Certainly think they are in consideration as long-range lower to mid level collectibles.
