It is dangerous, hit the Omega fund for $56, decided I needed a Hi-Beat watch, bought a Zodiac SST 36000bph. Will see what shows up. Curious just how accurate these Hi-Beat watches are as opposed to the standard 5 or 6HZ watches. Will need to be serviced, so it will be a while until I find out.

Don't have the watch yet, but here is the exact watch from another site. Hope that is OK.. Mine has what I believe is the original band. Have a two week trip coming up so will have to wait. Will have the Boss send it in for service however. IMG_8458-768x1024[1].jpg

Not even sure of which movement, I know of three. All calibre 86. 17 jewel unadjusted, 17 jewel adjusted and a 21 jewel adjusted. Will be back from my trip about Halloween, hope I don't find a horror..

Nice looking. Ray916MN loves these high beats and has a lot of them. Perhaps he'll show some next stop-by.

Have seen his posts in another forum. Used to have a Ducati ST2, (916 is a Ducati) and I am originally from Minnesota (MN) so we do have somethings in common.

Naaa...there's little to no risk of finding horror when only $56 is on the line! That's about twelve days worth of espresso macchiato!! :D

Well that was my thought, I was looking at a Zodiac Olympos SST (rather rare) but it went for (a Zodiac) big bucks, unserviced, beat up crystal and case, no band for $177. I will send mine off for service, Raimond (watchmaker) says the calibre 86 is a good one. I actually have a credit.. So hoping it will be under $200 for a service and crystal on mine. I guess like Omega's, Zodiac's are starting to be more than noticed. IF the band is the original as I suspect it alone is worth more than what I paid.

Will do that, not sure when the next time will be. Mom is getting up there so it will be sooner rather than later. Was reading some old advertising for the SST and they are warrented to be within 1 minute per month.. Price on the 70's models was $110 to $175...

Well off on my trip. A fun little spot in the Antilles. At least there is internet. Wife got the watch right after I flew out. Original 24c gold filled JB Champion band, quickset date, and it is running. All is well for the grand sum of $56. Will need to get it serviced however. Will post pics when I return.
    evghenii,
That to me is a bit expensive for a later Asto that has issues. Sevice is about $150-$200 for these, and the crystal is hard to come by if it needs replacement.

No pictures that I can see. Zodiac bands were mostley JB Champion, Kriesler, and perhaps Dreman in the later ones. My Sea Wolf has an original band with just made in the USA, no maker.
