This is my watch! I’ve heard of a nice Ultraman going for 45k. Mine is nicer. Hard to imagine that a better one could exist unless it was never taken out of the box. Going to leave it open for offers for a bit and then might run an auction if I don’t get an offer I like.

Why not just list it in the Private Sales section and save yourself 13-14% of ebay and Paypal fees + keep it in the community?

Looks like a lot of lume gone from the indices as well, unless its just the lighting on the dial?

Was the $45k at an auction? I'm curious when and where that was. Someone here must know.

Well eBay fee is only $250 if you have a store, 2.9% PayPal fees do suck but eBay gets a lot more views. 0% of the lume is missing (don’t be a dick), check the photo or ask Simon Freese if you don’t believe me 0D98A2CC-FC1A-4A7D-99CD-E2C83E8B75F8.jpeg

LOLOLOLOL. I didn't see that photo before I was a "dick". It was not in your listing.

I was looking at your auction photo where the indices at 9 oclock through 1 oclock are completely white:

Yea this photo doesn't show the lume very well at all, the other photo does a much better job.

Yeah, I was tempted to mention your original photos were not complementary enough to the piece, but didn't want to seem like a dick! :D That additional photo is the money shot- what a beauty.

IMHO, the “best example in the world” would be all original as the day it left the dealer.
Boxes, papers and most certainly the original (or at least correct) 1039/516 bracelet.

A very nice looking watch... and a very bold claim. Since OF probably has the highest density of Ultraman Speedies in the world, maybe we could see some contenders? Anyone with an excellent condition Ultraman, bring it out and show it!

With only ~50 made, I think there is a very good chance this is the best one today, and certainly top 2 or 3. I value the condition it is in over box and papers. As for the bracelet, as far as I understand if this watch wasn’t sold until the early ‘70s this might be the bracelet it was sold on. I certainly could put a 1039 with it but I’d rather keep it with the bracelet it came with. Please, if anyone can show me a better example I will immediately change my listing. Otherwise, regardless of your opinion, I stand by my claim!

It would be more impressive to me if other members supported your claim instead of you making the case. Maybe take a breath and wait to see what others say.

I'm not supposed to defend my claim??? I can't win. Just pointing out that with only 50 watches made 50 years ago, the odds of a NOS unworn example suddenly surfacing is 0.0%
