I think this watch is beautiful, but I would love to hear what resident experts here think.
Seller assures absolute original on dial.
If all original and mint.... What would a true $ (what you'd pay if you wanted it) value be?
are these black dial Connie's rare/desireable or not?
I have been alerted to the lack of side pics (have asked for these) and the chonometER spelling.
    thanks in advance

I think it's worth what someone is willing to pay for it. But currently too high IMO as the bezel is polished down a bit. Case-back is quite nice though, I would want to see more angles of the dial and sides. Black arrowhead dials in good shape are getting harder to find, and especially in solid gold. I think just over 2k would be acceptable to leave some room for servicing, parts.

ER and not RE gives me pause. The only ER dials I have seen with cal. 505 are with case ref. 2887 though I have seen original ER dials with bumper seamaster watches.

This dial may very well be OK, but as stated by PP, we really need better images. The gloss and scripting fit a late 2852, especially a special order black dial. I would expect the case to be a little crispier for a dial like this. Always a gamble on ones like this, or this.

If you look at the dial picture in the OP, but enlarged (just click on the image), I really don't see anything wrong with it. MOY, cross-hairs, fonts and serifs all look spot-on. I would be pretty much certain it is OK (famous last words, Smith). The issues I see are the over polished case and the price about £1,000 too high . . . :(

Either way it seems the consensus is he's asking at least $2k too much

Thats a tough call all round, the only way to make sure its as nice as the photos is see it in the flesh so to speak. Could the dial be that nice after so long? Either way thats a purty looking timepiece. As others have stated it seems a bit overpriced. What a nice looking piece though.
