    hey guys,
    I have seen this offer on eBay italy

    http://www.ebay.it/itm/ULTRA-RARE-V...E-/262139692207?ssPageName=ADME:B:BOC:IT:1123Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network

    there are some wrong replacement parts on the watch
    but I liked the fact that the seller seems to have the original papers

    He offered me the watch for 3.300€ directly...hmmm;
    I wasn't convinced - waited a couple of days...and now its sold :(

    Should I be disappointed that I did not agree to the sellers direct offer?

    thanks

    If you wanted a correct example, this wasn't it. As for passing on it, I have two choices for you to consider...

    A. If you'll feel better about your decision.... the price was wayyyyy more than what is was worth. Can't believe some newb paid so much! You really dodged a bullet!

    B. If you're into self-pity.... it was cheap for what it is. You passed, and some undeserving but well-informed Speedmaster fan else got a real deal.

    ;)
    I wasn't looking for a perfect example.

    I just try to figure out why the seller offered it for 3,300
    did I miss something except of the replacement dial?

    The cal. 321 movement itself would be worth 1500€ accordingly to recent ebay sales

    and the wrong dial is a Tritium one...which is worth a couple of hundreds alone;
    plus the papers ....it seemed too low for me...as there is something wrong...but the seller is not from Peru ;) ..and his eBay account is not "fresh"

    That was a terrible deal.
    Essentially a case bezel and movement.
    The papers, as said, are unrelated.
    Finding a dial will be in excess of $1000 as that was the last time I saw one sell.
    Then you have to find matching hands, which isn't easy.
    It's a project, and nowadays it's very hard to find the right parts.

    Wrong dial, hands...I wouldn't touch that watch with a 10 foot pole unless you have a dial /hand set and the case/caseback/movement are kosher.

    Cheers,

    I ..... don't know what the op posted and too jet lagged to look further but see just enough to warrant a :whipped: for who ever paid. Or, guess someone wanted the case? :thumbsdown:
