I had been looking for a Zodiac Glorious on and off for awhile. One came up that I could not resist. It was made the same year I was.. Has the original papers manual and box. Getting hard to find that in a watch made in ' 55 LOL I will post better pictures when I actually have the watch in hand.
It's a full rotor automatic as well. Spiedel mesh gold filled band, but I will get a proper leather/croc band soon. I t came out of a Storeage locker in Northern CA believe it or not.
I actually have two, a GMT and a World Timer. By the way the band you asked about looks like it came of a '70's World Timer. The GMT is an early one, '66 or '67. The World Timer is a '71.
Beautiful Glorious, the Chronometeres are not easy to come by. I will have to wait and see, but think the one I got will be the standard 17j automatic. Zodiac's are actually a very well made watch with several inovations over the years. Prices do seem to be rising pretty steady over what one used to be able to get them for. At least they are not as faked or frankened as others, but I have started to see Sea Wolf's that are made up of several different watches.
Got the 1955 Glorious back from a cleaning and service. Came out pretty good considering how beat up it was. A Zodiac Pie Pan Guilloche? A long strange trip for this watch, bought by a man from England in Lichtenstein on holiday, returned to England and somehow wound up in a storage locker in Northern California then sold to me on eBay ...
They are not as easy to find as other Zodiac's, and due to age most are rather beat up. I have a rather low amount in this one, $250 with the service. They are a quality watch, A Schild movements, this one a standard 17j.
These are my Zodiac beaters when I don't want to wear my collection of 100 vintage Omegas. Most of my Omegas are way too small to be in style these days. I wonder when this crazy Big fad is going away 😀
