eBay or chrono24

I apologize if this is not the subforum that I should post this in

Which site between chrono24 or eBay do you think is the most seller friendly and easy to use?

I am ready to make a change in my collection and wish to sell my seamaster.. doing a little bit of research before I make a listing somewhere.

Would you say items like extra bracelets and straps add their relative value to the sale price or is mostly a bonus?

what I mean by that is if you look at listings for say a bracelet.. and it goes for 4-600 in a preowned condition, would you expect to add a 1:1 $400-$600 on top of what a typical reference for a watch would command? Some other things I have collected and sold do not necessarily work this way. Sometimes your “customization” is not necessarily going to add value even though you have spent considerable money.

any help is appreciated and again I apologize if this post should not be in this section of the forum

Extra bracelet? Or just the bracelet that goes with the watch? If it’s really an extra one then sell it separately. But I don’t recommend splitting up the original package and selling components separately.

+1 on selling extras (straps, bracelets, etc) separately. A bracelet you can sell for $500 will not add $500 to the base price of the watch being listed. It might only add a few hundred. I don’t use eBay anymore - it long ago stopped being friendly to the casual seller and has focused on the mass-seller. Fees (listing and selling) have become so high, you will take a 20% hit in your final sale price.

I will only sell on the forums where I have been a long-term member, or trade the pieces in to local or internet dealers for watches I want. Some argue I am loosing money that way, it I see it as reducing hassle. For example, I traded an older Seamaster Pro toward a Rolex Explorer I wanted at a local jeweler last year. He gave me $2000 credit toward the purchase. I might have been able to sell it on EBay for $5-600 more, but after fees and shipping costs, I doubt I would have made any money.

Thanks guys.

To answer questions above… I have a ceramic wave seamaster I bought on bracelet, and have since added the omega rubber strap and stainless omega milanese

I would post in this forum but I don’t have enough activity to date to meet the criteria.

I am not in a rush so maybe I’ll up my post count and post it in due time. I would rather omega enthusiasts get the first crack at it anyway

have a great day all

I would never consider buying anything from flea-bay.
That is a shame because there are some real bargains to be had on eBay if you know what to look for and strike quickly. These were all eBay pick ups.

Agreed, I have bought countless good watches on eBay.

I really don't think you want to start messing around with laser welding-based refinishing on a gold-capped watch with a value in the range of the OP watch.
