Funny how this is another blue dial with the same flaking / deterioration you see on the blue dial 321 Speedmasters, I guess this is the reason they never went into long term production.

 

The blue of that era just flakes. The Primeros are the same way, as is the Gallet Excel-O-Graph and probably others.

 

Yea my A386 has the slightest hint of that, its just fascinating to see how widespread it is and sort of makes me wonder if there's a common thread to all these dials, like is it a Singer thing and came on all the dials they supplied to Omega/Zenith/Gallet etc or another manufacturer or is it just all the blue pigment of that era even across dial makers.
