Very favorable price. No box or papers. The replicas for these modern Omegas are really good these days, so no way to tell with the worst pics ever used to try and sell a watch.

You can use the serial to see if it matches up to the expected model. Also, on these 8500 models with the crown pulled out part way you can advance the hour hand only. I don't think the replicas have this feature (yet).

Post clear pics of movement and the guys here can help you validate the authenticity.

I have the same watch but a blue dial. I love it.

You have bigger balls then me for those pics and a first time seller on a watch with known good quality fakes.

Yes, a chance of a fake is quite possible, but such is the risk with such poor description, and unknown seller... a gamble, no doubt...

... the consolation is the somewhat drawn-out process (and no real guarantee) of recourse through the eBay/PayPal protection system if the seller doesn't cooperate... I've done it once for a watch not fully accurate as described, and it wasn't too bad... two months, full refund.

eBay's buyer protection program is my default plan. I'm very familiar with the 8500 movement as I have a PO. The tells that I was looking for seem to be there i.e. A black silicon balance wheel and really the over all look of the watch (grainy as the pics may be). My wife has the 38.5 mm version of this exact watch so I will be comparing closely.
I will be sure to update with legitimate pictures once it arrives. Can't wait. I'm hoping that this is one of those great eBay stories where a nice watch was found for a great price. Time will tell. Thanks for the input everybody.

Also, the serial on the movement should match the serial on the case, if it is real.

Well 13 other bidders seemed to think it was worth a punt too, so you could be lucky.

So I'm very happy to report that it looks like the gamble paid off. Let me know what you think. Serial numbers match. Here are some non blurry pics.

I'm so happy for you! Great catch on the bay! 😀
Love me an AT (preferably black dial), been on the lookout for awhile now...

hey guys, hate to do this, and instead of starting a new thread, i figure i'd recycle this one if OP doesn't mind too much.. 😀
what do you think of this 2500 mov't? is it real or an ETA fake? i swear something must be wrong with my eyes because for the life of me i can't tell, even though i tried practicing on google search images...(that, or different fakes, i dunno...)
this one is being offered to me locally, for a fair price. it's a black dial AT, my fave color combo and my fave modern omega...

I don't mind you jacking the thread. I wish I could help you though. I don't know all that much about the 2500 movement. It looks legit from what I've seen but like I said I always researched the 8500 movement or the 861 movement. I'm sure others will be able to answer but I'm betting legit. Do the serial numbers match up? Or are the serial numbers associated with any known fakes?

i believe the serials match. my only concern is an ETA or a chinese masking as a coax. i saw some scary good stuff when i did google image search...that's why before i email back the person, i'd love to get one or two of our resident experts chime in real quick...
