Doesn't look right to me. A stepped, round O, wide spaced TT Dial? Fonts are off too.
    Am I missing something here?
    Service Dial?
    Bogus redone Dial?

Hit $3500 on 3 bids. Then taken off of eBay. Looks like a buyer made a side PayPal deal. ::facepalm1::

A stepped wide TT prepro service dial? I don't remember seeing one. Not on speedmaster101.com service dial article. Aren't the "2" supposed to match? Even on a service dial?

How about the narrow "E" and strange looking 10. Glad I didn't buy it

Not as bad as this one, but yeah.

It looks like it's been pulled.

To me, it looks like the dial has been touched up in certain spots, especially the sub dials and OMEGA. Look at the 7 hour mark on the sub dial. The paint ran past the edge of the sub dial. All the paint looks too thick. Wonder what it ended up going for?

Looks like late 80's/early 90's service dial & hands. Service bezel, crown & pushers as well.

For absolutely accuracy it is on speedmaster 101 but I am sure William can point you to it, in case here it is.

So, before anyone conjures up some wonderful myth about these dials they are mid/ late 60's service replacements, I have a friend who has a one owner 2998 which had a movement replacement and dial replacement in 1967, this dial was fitted then including a NOS 1967 movement and he has the receipts to back it up. I would also add it has a complete Omega service history for its entire life and the only time it mentioned a dial and movement change was 1967, which the serial number on the movement corroborated and matched to the records

I did quite a lot of research for him and concluded that it is a service dial (to an extent) but so few have been seen that I came to the conclusion it was produced for a very short space of time in the late 1960's, sure I could be wrong and welcome further views but I have seen evidence that one of these dials was fitted in 1967.

I don't believe this is any different to a blue dial service dial or a grey service dial (other than the obvious value), you can chose to agree or disagree I really don't mind but there are as many of these I know of as there are blue metallic service dials, people place a value on the blue service dial because it is 'different' this is no less different or rare.

I am not suggesting that it should increase the value of an ed white but I certainly wouldn't be put off buying one with one of these dials

    Thanks Tom

I agree that I wouldn't be put off buying one of these service dials, but I'd take a grey, metallic, or soleil dial over one of these any day of the week.
