so I won the bidding and while checking out saw there’s a enter coupon code. I did a simple online search but the code seems to be for buying eBay online and not extending to bidding winnings? Any one tried ?

Sometimes ebay runs sales and eBay bucks are issued... But generally coupons aren't just floating around like on other sites...

eBay sale coupon codes have only worked for me on BIN items.

eBay will occasionally run promotions, particularly from their phone app. Sometimes they will give up to 10% eBay bucks "cashback." A few weeks ago a got a Google Home mini for free after buying something for >$150.

Ebay runs promotions all the time. Just remember as a seller those promotions come out of your bottom line.

Yup. I'd say they've run a 15-20% off sale once every month or two these days. So I'd save up a few items you like in a watchlist and when a sale comes buy 'em all at once.

I also think you can't use a coupon on an auction (but you can use eBay bucks)

No, if eBay offers the buyer a discount through a promotion it comes out of their profit. The seller is generally charged 10% and then whatever PayPal fees they encounter. If eBay offered a coupon for another 10% they aren’t going to take 20% from the seller. They just eat their profit as a loss-leader. They just had one that said something like “20% off everything - only for the day - limit $100”. So that’s nice but a little deceiving if you think you’re getting 20% off a $6,000 watch.

    Hi

Coupon will work on auctions or buy it now , there is some restrictions

“Qualifying purchases or items listed for sale exclude all items in the following categories: Classifieds; Business & Industrial, but only for Heavy Equipment within that category; Real Estate; Gift Cards & Coupons, including eBay Gift Cards, Gift Cards, and Digital Gifts within that category; Bullion within the Coins & Paper category; and all categories in Motors, except Parts & Accessories.”

    Good hunting

I don’t think so. I believe the coupon was valid for just a day. I used the coupon to buy a vintage 14k Hamilton Fleetwood with a black dial that had come up for sale shortly after the sale was announced :D

Also, if you call eBay and speak to a representative, they will give you an extra 2% discount if you pronounce it "kew-pahn"!
