Ever since I got to experience Rolex’s EasyLink - plus or minus 5mm on-the-fly adjustment - it's become a key requirement for my watches, and up til recently only available for my more modern watches.

With vintage pieces, there's bracelet stretch, but it not quite the same. So I'm really enthused to share my experience with the recently released Steel Reef vintage extension links (equivalent to the Rolex EasyLink).

I just installed them on my Explorer 5500 and my wife's Oyster Perpetual 1003. And they're excellent!

Half-links are available as well (strangely via the dropdown) in case you need that in-between fit.

Note, I'm not sure the link works with folded bracelets; mine were both the solid link 78350.

Do you think that the extension is a bit too big? It’s 5mm, correct?

I don’t understand the purpose of this.
Here's a video of how it works, but basically it increases or decreases the size of the bracelet by 5mm without needing tools.

It's not for everyone (e.g. you have the perfect fit or wear your watch loose), but for those whose wrist swell or shrink it's often just the right amount of difference.
