Picked this up earlier this year while on a trip to Hong Kong. The dealer said he bought it back from Europe, which is where it's back now (UK), although not for much longer as we have decided to leave the EU. Dates to 1957, no lume, this dial has some pitting, and the date wheel could do with changing, but it sang to me, and suppose that's all that counts.

    Very nice! I like it!

It reminds me of my 1957 Air-King-Date. image.png

Your Air King Date reminds me of my Air King! What reference is yours? 2015-06-18 08.38.47.jpg

Wow! I like your Air King too. Great patina.
Mine is a 5700. I had to search for some time to locate one I liked as I read they were only sold in some Commonwealth Countries (where I am not located).

Once again great DateJust. I like the bezel and is the dial stepped?

Think the bezel is referred to as coin edge, and I think the dial is stepped.

    Air King Date 019.jpg I also have a 5700, but from 1969.

20160628_181559.jpg 6605 DJs rule. Some of the most stunning vintage watches ever made, on par with the vintage constellations and conquests. Mine says hi.

Great photos by the way. Sorry for my poor phone screen grabs.

I love these old Oysters as well. A 6605 that I ended up selling to my brother.

My 1953 6424 currently in for service. Also came with original stretch bracelet 75 ends 1/54, needs repair as springs are broken.

I believe that bezel design is called crenellated.

This is a fantastic thread. Let's keep it going.
To the OP, if you wish, change the thread topic to "Early/Vintage Rolex-show us yours!", or something like that, so it's not limited to 6605s only. :)
