    Hi all,
I recently bought an early SM600. I didn’t notice at first, but there is a tiny inscription on the case back. I read it as “100429B”. Anyone know what it could mean? Watchmakers ID from earlier service perhaps?

Most probably a watchmaker mark. Some watchmaker did mark them outside on the case…i don't understand why.

I have a '70 Speedmaster with a watchmakers number poorly scratched onto the bottom of a lug. Obviously invisible when worn, but doesn't make a lot of sense to me as to why it was done.
