    Hey valued members,

Have always appreciated the design of the 60's/70's Dynamics, but am no expert on the model. Minus pics of the movement (that I don't have yet) how does this look to everyone? Doesn't seem to have been polished like so many I've seen - can still see the brushing on the bezel. Appears all original to me... welcome any and all thoughts before I look at purchasing. Thanks!

Hard to judge considering the quality of the photography. Your pictures or the seller’s? It would be harder to duplicate a texture than it would be to polish a watch. From what I can see, looks okay. The true test would be to see the movement and inside tha back,of the case. Not easy to do on this model.

Seller’s pics. I’d ask for movement pics before buying but yeah, hard to do on this model without the proper tool.

I don't think the case has been polished, but I don't know what you mean by "pristine". The case is in rough condition. Blow it up to the full resolution if you haven't already.

Edited. Pristine in its originality is what I was going for, but yes, it clearly has wear. I’ve blown up the pics, I would say wear appropriate for the age.

Nice dial, but it certainly hasn't had a particularly easy life.

Is the strap and original Omega or a generic replacement?

    Asking price?

Strap is original Omega corfam, and the buckle is original as well. Asking price is $600, which I think is a little high. Maybe more than a little...

It seems to have small scratches, rather than big dings. The strap seems to be in good condition.
I've seen far worse examples make $300.
Really needs better pics before you start discussing price, you need to be assured of condition.

Blow up the photos to see the condition, especially adjacent to the crown.

X350 is correct. The case surrounding the crown is very hacked up.

Michael is right on the money. It's unclear whether it's an original Omega strap (which I doubt) .there are many cheap after market copies and the buckle where the logo should be has been carefully framed out of the photograph so it remains unclear. But the strap seems to be in way too good condition to be from 1968-1970. 1st gen when I'd make a wild guess this was from.
Finding a really top notch first generation Dynamic that isn't truly silly money is getting pretty hard these days. They are getting more desirable despite the fact they aren't exactly scarce (except the green and red dialled ones!!!). Over here is Europe what went for 250-300 Euros last year is going for 350-400. Of course it'd be nice to see pics of the movement.
I think the dial is in great shape. Again these deceptively complex designs are quite easily damaged/or dry out over time and lose tiny bits of lume, especially on the white markers. You only need a few bits to crumble off here and there and you've got a very different looking watch on your hands. ..Dynamics don't ever seem to patina well.
Some of the hard core collectors who've contributed in this thread are real sticklers when it comes to condition. And perhaps rightly so when more than 1,000,000 of these were made. It depends on your viewpoint.
That said , if it's going particularly cheap and you're looking to expand your collection in this direction it seems on the surface to be worth a punt. I've got a couple in very different states of condition that I bought last year for cheap. One I got revised right away, the other works but needs really a revision and I'm not yet sure if it's worth putting the money into it as the dial is damaged...Possibly a future flip. Still like to have it and wear it as a beater though..they are fantastically designed and very comfortable wearing watches.

For what it's worth, there are several for sale right now on the forum and some recently sold examples. The write ups and prices found on the sales forum will be a good way to gauge what a fair price is for the watch you're looking at.

It looks quite a nice example to me. The dial looks original and the case hasn’t lost the “sunburst” finish through over polishing that is often the case. I think that Dynamics are great to collect, not to expensive and some attractive variations. Mine say hello (sorry about the bad quality photos)

Thanks, I feel confident with my knowledge on pricing for these, given past sales, etc. I only included the price when asked, was looking for thoughts on case and dial condition.

Thank you for the response, very informative and much appreciated! And apologies, there are full pictures of the strap and buckle, I just didn't include in my original post. Attaching those below now. I believe both to be original although it is odd that they appear to be in great condition and the case less so. Maybe they are original and for most of its life it was worn on a bracelet? Or the strap and buckle are original, just not to this particular watch?

Appreciate the extra eyes everyone. I think the case is rougher than I first wanted to notice (was smitten with that dial and strap/buckle) but it’s gonna be a pass for me. And the hunt continues!

Yeah, that case has seen a hard life. I'm a bit shocked that the crystal is so pristine given the case edges.

I've replaced one of these crystals myself. Not at all difficult with the tool.

Without the tool, the old syringe and plastic bag trick will pop the crystal off really easily.
