Discovered a tiny little spec of dust on the dial of my new Speedy. You can’t see it with the naked eye only by a loupe. Should I send it in to get it serviced or am I doing more harm in having the watch opened than good. I am grateful for your suggestions.

Throw the watch away, it is tainted.
Don’t want to forget to congratulate you on this hilarious thread.
This really really brightened my day with this gut buster laugh.

I went to have a peep, but couldn't see the topic for the ads covering my screen.

Talk about clickbait hell on the screen.

If you could see it at all with the naked eye, I see reasoning for returning it for a service. But being that you have to magnify that thing to almost microscopic levels to see it, I wouldn't do anything. I doubt that it would be covered under the warranty.

Don't do anything since you cannot see with naked eyes. Wait for servicing to resolve this.

The problem here is that once you know its there you’ll see it easily with your naked eye. It will be painfull for first couple of weeks but after that it will be okay. Got the same problem with my tag heuer but the dust just disappeared on its own. But of course you can always return it.

Guess I‘ll stick with it, since you can’t see it with naked eyes. Had it checked by the master watchsmith at my local AD. She recommended to leave it like it is since service means always the danger of more dust coming in.

All the scratches you'll get on the Hesalite will make you forget all about that one, tiny, microscopic spec of dust.

She is absolutely correct. Or scratches on the case and lugs if they are not careful.

Where does she service her watches? In a barn?

If it were I, I'd be seeking the services of another "master watchsmith".

You will be surprised that i have received an omega seamaster back from service by omega with lint on the dial. Rolex factory service on a rolex explorer with scratches on the lugs.

Since watches are not serviced in a class 1 dust free environment there is no guarantee to get them back dust free. Maybe you should have a word with your AD. I am sure he will confirm this.

Who looks at a watch that closely when you're checking the time?
