Does anyone have any issues with their dial rattling inside the case? My watchmaker thinks it could be the dust cover not providing tension properly.
Has anyone had this issue? Will a new dust cover help solve the rattling? What provides the tension for the dial? Does anyone have a dust cover for sale?

    Sorry for ALL the questions...

It is not the links rattling I have already ruled that out.

    Thanks for any suggestions!

My dust cover for some reason has the center drilled out.

It's the nob in the center that provides the tension when the back pushes down on it, if it's is drilled out you most certainly need a new one. Question is why did someone remove the nob, is there something else wrong with the watch?

You need a new dust cover or weld a new nob on the existing one.

That's not what I was thinking about, I'm sure it's running as it should.
But when putting the watch together, someone obviously thought the nob on the dustcap needed to be removed, and I'm wondering how they reached that conclusion? Could they not get the dail/dustcap/case back to fit? Something wrong or only somebody not knowing what he/she was doing?
Only way to find iout I guess is geting a new dust cap and put it in there and see what happens.

Search for my posts and you will see a thread I started "Choose your watchmaker carefully".... I went through what I call a nightmare hack of a watchmaker. Polished my watch(lost edges) and couldn't get anything running properly. He even placed mark type hands on it and told me they were supposed to be on it. I got all my money back 850$ and sent it to JD's watch repair who diagnosed the issue in 1 day and had everything working properly in 3 days. I was on a strict budget when I sent it to JD because I still hadn't gotten all my money back from the hack. Jamie is looking for a dust cap as we speak but I would like to find another asap.

That explains it then... I hadn't read that thread.
Sorry to hear it, lets hope it works out with the new cap and nothing is destroyed beyond repair by the other "watchmaker".

Yes, the new watchmaker is a certified omega watchmaker. He has a parts account whereas the other guy seemed like he was ordering from eBay.

Pissed me off when all was said and done and nothing was right...

I'm having trouble finding the dust cap that has the same nub on it.

If you have a watchmaker with a parts account, why do you need to find the part for them? Just ask them to replace the dust cover with the correct one.

The part number 096FE0037 keeps showing up as the 1st picture below. @Archer will this work even though it doesn't have the nub like my original one?
