Hi everyone,

I have come across this watch, and sort of fell in love with the case, which looks in pristine condition and super sharp.

I understand that this is generally not the best idea to buy « cheap » watches as the relative cost of a service makes it a money hole pretty quickly, but I would like a daily wearer which I can enjoy without being completely obsessed about scratching it. I don’t necessarily plan on servicing this watch, according to the seller, the movement (Landeron 48) runs great and all the functions work properly. Is this a reliable movement? How does it look to your eye? It looks clean to me.

The dial looks in good condition too. A bit of wear overall, some of the lume dots are slightly gone, but it does look attractive IMO. Would this be a gilt dial? Or printed?

There is not much info on this brand, which disappeared in the late 1970s. I will try to find more info and paste below.

The seller is asking for 300€.

I like to have a second opinion as I am new to the world of watches, so if you have some thoughts, please share!

I thank you in advance.

Lucas

I have a Landeron 48 calibre, two-register chronograph movement in a Bucherer watch. It pops up in my watch rotation from time to time. There were lots of this movement made, and while my experience with them is not extensive, mine is a reliable, accurate performer. It is difficult to predict what servicing might be required to the Dulfi chronograph, but in good condition, it should work well for you. It is NOT shock resistant, or WATER resistant, so treat it with respect!

Probably not even dust proof given those square pushers, really needs to stay away from the elements

Ok, noted… so extra care needed.

Is there a way to know if the case is gold capped or plated from these pictures?

Look between the lugs or on the edge of the case at the 9:00 position for a stamping. If you see a 10, or a 20, that likely refers to microns (thickness). One micron is one millionth of a meter. If you don’t see those marks, and if there is nothing stamped inside the case back that answers your question, then is gold plated. The case is not gold capped.
