Offered on another forum, mint, box, papers,
$7350. Wow! Almost tempted. Why the
huge depreciation? That's like a 5 grand hit in
    as many months/ Thoughts?

Are you sure this isn't the same one we discussed a few months ago?
At that time, with that particular watch, we decided it was a scam. ;-(

    I predicted that would happen...

Ive always said that this watch was over priced from the get go. There is one cheaper somewhere that I've spotted but cannot remember where recently.

I would ask for more pictures if complete and all. I never liked his ads which usually contained on picture that doesn't show anything else but the face and is quite low resolution

I love the DSOM but there's no way I would ever pay $10k for a Speedmaster. Its such a beautiful piece, but then there is the price. Hopefully once the pre-owned market supply increases the prices will drop way lower than $8k. Again it is a beautiful piece, but not for $10k. $5k maybe but not $10k.

What makes it worth so much? Would 5K make a lot more sense than 10K?

Try comparing it to other ceramic watches such as iwc, panerai, etc. the engineering and detail that goes into the dsotm is even better and it's cheaper.

Doesn't make any sense. The SS version of the 9300 is almost 8k. I'm not sure what you expect to get for 5k lol.

    and getting cheaper. lol
but seriously, I'm amazed at the depreciation.
Why? That's basically why I started this thread?

There's several listed at the moment, on the low end, as you have pointed out, but ranging right up to around $9200... mostly in the mid 8k range.. agree it's cheap for a dsom, but a little bit anaomolous maybe?

That's interesting, as Blowers in England recently (might still be there) had a couple of unworn pre-owned at different prices, which in itself seemed odd to me. One was above the actual RRP, the other just below. Both were more than I paid for mine back in June last year.

I use TZ but only recently got access to the sales corner after being there for a year! I've just done a search and is this the sale from a post made on 31st March 2014? No photos were ever put up and no further information is forthcoming.

Who knows whats going on. This is the reason I refuse to pay retail, let alone retail plus tax for an Omega. They all tend to take about 1 30-40% drop after awhile. Luckily I got my DSOTM for a slight discount an no tax. My friend bought both the DS and GS for the full retail plus 8%tax which I think is pretty crazy. Maybe Ill add the GS next year when I can get if for 8K lol.

Pretty much how their whole lineup is if you give the new releases a month or so to settle down. The SM300, GSOTM, DSOTM, etc., for all the hype, they never become difficult to get if you can wait a bit.

Until Omega gets a tighter leash on their distribution channel (which prompted the whole Costco debacle) this is never going to change.

Agreed. Im so glad I didn't pull the trigger on the GS at full retail plus tax. I would have felt like I wasted a lot of money esp after seeing the market for the DS now. The boutiques all pull the BS about limited production numbers on both the DS and GS. They kept emailing me saying how hard it is to get a GS now but yet I walked into a few botiques and they all had them. Ill wait until next year maybe he will have one for 7100 lol.

He must have been desperate for cash. He could have gotten 8000 if he just waited a bit longer.
