This should be more like a 'considering to buy' or 'starting to do my research to buy' Ive loved the cal320s floating around here, and the Zenith A271 that @Mick Tock posted is gorgeous. So, what other similar watches are out there? And then does anyone want to sell one
You should look into Landeron powered watches from the 50's and 60's. They usually sell for what's considered a song in the vintage chronograph world.
True, but very few with the elegance in dials of the Zenith or Omega. A couple of nice ones found on google image search
Excelsior Park is an option (Zenith, G-P and Gallet also used their movements). I like mine quite a bit even though the dial may be a replacement. The Caliber 4 chrono is well respected and feels very smooth (though a bit loud).
Both this, and the Execelsior Park is too 'busy' for me. It's the clean-ness of the A271 and some cal320s that appeal to me.
May be not everyone's take on dressy, but I've actually been wearing this one for just such occasions. In it's defense, it's very sharp, and sparkles, and I've had a very high number of questions and compliments when wearing it. I think the case shape intrigues people...
You could also look for Valjoux 7733 powered models. I owned this Elgin for a short time and there are plenty of brands out there from days past that use this movement. Cheers, Al
How about the Breitling Top Times? Comes in a variety of cases, with the nice clean dial look you're after. Here's mine.
I've been doing a little gandering at the old 320s as well. You might consider a 2475. Swiped from a FS listing here in 2013. https://omegaforums.net/threads/omega-chronograph-2475-cal-320.8366/ Edit: second pic from an dealer site..
