    Hello,

I have been dreaming of buying a steel Connie with rice-bracelet over several years now. Financially, things have been quite good lately, and therefore i am on the hunt for one.

I have been looking at the following watch on Ebay, and wonder if anybody has an opinion about its authenticity.

http://www.ebay.de/itm/221656987858...rkparms=gh1g=I221656987858.N2.S2.M4647.R3.TR5Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network

    What would you guys say?

+71 seconds a day and an amplitude of 138, that doesn't sound good at all.:( leaving it as is for the buyer...why wouldn't they just service it and get more money for it? Something smells fishy!:cautious:

the acution seems manipulated.. there are too many 26-rated bids

regarding the watch i think 800 euro should be a fair price. the +71 sec can be easily adjusted to arround 10 seconds because this quite the same for all positions.

also consider that its from the USA +20% Tax

I completely disagree...the watch has an amplitude of 138 and is running +71 sec. A day, it needs far more than just to be regulated.

Personally I just don't like the dial and hands condition and overall look of the watch.

Indeed - amplitude is very low, and the trace is a mess. This is not just a regulation issue and saying so is nonsense - it needs a full service for certain. Or you could take it to "your guy" who will tweak it for 50 Euro because you won't get the money back for the service on the sale... ;)

    Cheers, Al

At the current price it possibly could be serviced properly and turned over if that's what one wants to do. However, someone is going to bid this thing higher and there will be no margin left.

At least the seller is showing you that the movement needs a lot of work, even though they really have no clue what should be done.

Best left to the experts like Al to diagnose.

Thanks guys: imho i feel that the seller is atleast honest about the amplitude and +seconds.

But considering the price already has, the service this will need, and the tax to import it, it will be a pass.

    Someday though......

You were luck that the seller is at least honest, if misinformed. Many sellers would just have written "keeps good vintage time"
I have even known sellers claim that plus or minus three minutes a day was acceptable . . .
