Hi all, First post here I've found a stunning Omega Seamaster on eBay but having done some research, I am concerned as to its authenticity, the main reasons are below; 1) The calibre is 1020 and I can't find anything that verifies that this calibre was used in this model. 2) There is only a date marker, no day. According to http://www.ranfft.de/cgi-bin/bidfun-db.cgi?10&ranfft&&2uswk&Omega_1020 the 1020 calibre has a day and date marker. 3) The movement dates to 1978 according to the serial number. I've asked the seller to verify the number on the inside of the back case but haven't heard anything as yet. The item number is 132701049858. Any advice gratefully received Thankyou
Bad pictures but it looks genuine with a redial. No real collector value. There was a sunburst blue Geneve from the late 60’s/70’s that resembles this and can be found with the more robust and desire able 6xx or 5xx movement.
The parts are genuine, but may not have started out together. Case has been heavily polished and the refinished dial likely never said Seamaster. Looks like a mishmash of random parts put together. PASS
