    Dear friends,

I own a 3570.50 from 2009 and I just got the chance to buy a 3592.50 from 1994. Comparing them, I notice that the case is not exactly the same. In the 3592, the lugs are slightly thiner, especially in the side of the pushers. Although I love watches, I am not expert at all as you can see from my doubt: did the case change from 1994 to 2009? I trust the seller, that claims that the watch is no NOS or new, but have been taken care of and is all original, but if at first sight I can see differences in the case, either the case changed or the watch has been polished quite a lot!! Thanks for your help!!!

Some pics of the piece. I would appreciate your comments!!

Have doubts on hands (owner claims all original but they glow as in my 3570, luminova replacent? Or original but relumed?) And doubts on case back as well (not familiar with this reference, but engraving looks a little cheap, not very clear, specially the word speedmaster). But especially, what about case? Definitely not the same as my 3570.

Looks to me like dial, movement, bezel and case are good; hands are luminova, caseback is fake.

I trust the seller, so I am quite sure he is not fooling me. He bought it from first owner, watchmaker that cared and serviced it. Can we be sure that the caseback is not original? Any more suggestion of how to proceed? I have the piece in my hands and am supposed to pay for it today or tomorrow. With case/movement number, can I check at least that it was originally 3592 and not a 3570 franken with non-original caseback? If so, how? Omega archives?

About the case, I see differences with my 2009 3570. Sorry for my ignorance but... did the case change its shape in those years or is the 3592 too polished?

I enclose some more pictures of the caseback. Many thanks in advance for any help!!!

I think caseback is original but has lost the black ink inside the text due to wear. The case, lugs on these 90s are indeed different compared to the current modern ones.

the entire watch looks Kosher to me. however if you still are anxious about the deal then tell your trustworthy seller to give you a bit more time. I never like to do any deals under time pressure so work it out.

I think you have a 3592.50 Apollo XI unnumbered edition
I looked again at the photos and saw the serial number.
Looks good I even think the hands are tritium as well don’t think are luminova.

My 3592.50 is XX4/999 of the Numbered Italian Edition with Serial # 48.307.xxx.
According to the above then it's an Unnumbered Edition? What gives???

Last thing: how much in value would you price for service hands vs period correct tritium hands? How easy/cheap is to get them?

For me I think the hands are correct.
Value is up to you if you want to have it all correct to the last bit or not.
In which country are you? España?

This is a great thread. I have a 3592.50 and its the same case. It also matches the advertisments from the early 90s. The lugs are definitely thinner, but also steeper. Where the lug meets the endlink, its straight, with a tighter curve into the top of the lug. This gives the 3592.50 a look closer to the earlier straight lug speedys. When they moved to the 3572 and 2000 models, the lugs got wider, and the curve into the end link much shallower, like the 1970s speedies. Surprised this case difference isn't mentioned in moonwatch only. Its a bit difference. People often mistake this for the watch being over polished, but that's how they came.

The hands look correct. One easy way to check this is to shine a light on it, then turn the lights out. If its correct, the glowing lume will be the same brightness as the dial, and fade out over the same time. It they are service hands, they'll be super bright and last longer compared to the dial.
